The Sussex Beacon is very excited to be represented in the World AIDS Day Red Run for the first time on Saturday, 1st December 2018. The charity’s dedicated Team Beacon runners will complete the 10K or 5K running options, which will take them through Victoria Park in East London. This running event supports 34 essential HIV charities across the UK, including The Sussex Beacon, Brighton’s biggest HIV charity that supports people living with HIV. Registration is still open and running spaces to race for The Sussex Beacon continue to be available.
There will be plenty of entertainment going on at the event, with the World AIDS Day Red Run Village taking center stage as part of the day’s activities. DJs from the legendary Horse Meat Disco will provide music before and during the race, and the fabulous drag girl band DENIM will be the 2018 World AIDS Day Red Run Mistresses of Ceremonies introducing guest speakers and entertainers. Runners and their supporters will be able to view a poster exhibition of HIV support and presentation campaigns, and have access to the community area which will feature charity stalls and plenty of information about HIV. Registration, baggage and toilets will also be located within the village.
