Meet Christina, one of our amazing volunteers here at The Sussex Beacon!
Christina has volunteered for 4 years at our St James’ Shop, which was her favourite charity shop in Brighton before becoming a volunteer.
Because of COVID-19 she has been unable to visit and volunteer in our shops. Christina decided to start making and donating masks as her way of contributing to The Beacon whilst isolating at home.
She was inspired to start making the masks after the coronavirus pandemic broke out and she found small pieces of fabric at home. Like many volunteers, Christina saw how the charity sector was struggling and wanted to help in any way she could.
Christina has donated over 100 masks meaning that her amazing donation has raised £350 for The Sussex Beacon!
Christina values The Sussex Beacon because the work it does as a local charity helps her community. By volunteering for us, Christina is helping her local community. She loves volunteering for The Beacon and is very fond of everyone who works and volunteers there as she describes The Beacon as a ‘big family’.
