Food provided by local business has been pouring in to the Sussex Beacon this week as businesses and entrepreneurs react to our big ask for food stuffs.
The teams at Connie & Cooper and The Great British Cheesecake Co. were both instrumental in delivering some sweet treats to our patients and nurses.
Working on the wards definitely deserves a sweet treat or two!
Our hospital is open in this crisis but it's difficult to obtain staples such as flour and tinned tomatoes.
We are asking any caterers, restaurants, shops and others with perishable and non-perishable food to help our patients by donating items. https://t.co/OBvW5ZwdWL

Clinical Team Manager Tracey said
"The nurses have been completely overwhelmed with the generosity! Both Connie & Cooper and The Great British Cheesecake Co. delivered an unbelievable selection of delicious treats."
"It’s very easy when you don’t work on the frontline to feel like you aren’t ‘playing your part’ and wishing you could do more. The reality is that we are absolutely ‘playing our part’. Gestures like this make us feel valued by the community. That is so important to us as a team and as individuals. Thank you"
Our Fundraising Manager Mark said
“In these uncertain and difficult times for our front line staff it is important to show that we are right behind them. Having worked with Natasha and Connie from Connie & Cooper previously I knew that it would be loved by those still within the Beacon."
"The Housekeeping, Kitchen and Clinical Teams are providing outstanding care despite the circumstances and always with a smile. It’s a testament to them that they do this and I will be looking at other ways the team can help from home going forward.”
The whole Beacon team says THANK YOU!
