We would like to be able to dedicate additional staff time towards assisting people living with HIV, and provide further mental health support.
The Sussex Beacon supports people living with HIV within Sussex. We aim to both support our service users while removing the myths and stigma surrounding HIV. We have both a 10-bed inpatient unit providing medical care, including end of life care where needed, and a Health Management Service offering mental and physical health support to our service users.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We would use the project to offer support and to link our service users into partner charities when needed. Many of our service users are in the very heart of the Brighton community and the project would allow for us to support them when they need us the most. We work with partner organisations, such as the Terrance Higgins Trust and Lunch Positive, and will continue to do so.
