An opportunity to help create something that has never existed before.
For more than 30 years, The Sussex Beacon has been at the forefront of specialist care and support for people living with HIV. Now, we are entering the most ambitious chapter in our history.
Through our new strategy, Lighting the Way 2026–2030, we are working towards becoming the UK’s first provider of CQC-registered palliative and end-of-life care specifically designed for people living with HIV and LGBTQ+ communities.
This is more than an organisational milestone. It is an opportunity to redefine what compassionate, inclusive and equitable care looks like, ensuring that people who have too often experienced stigma and health inequalities receive the dignity, specialist support and excellence they deserve.
Alongside this pioneering development, we will continue to deliver high-quality community services that support people living with HIV across Sussex.
To help realise this vision, we are seeking an exceptional Chair and several Trustees to join our Board.
We’re looking for accomplished leaders who want to use their expertise to shape an organisation with the ambition to influence healthcare nationally. Working alongside an experienced executive team, you will help guide strategy, strengthen governance, support sustainable growth and ensure we continue to deliver outstanding care.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with expertise in:
- Communications and marketing
- Fundraising and philanthropy
- Governance
- Strategy and business development
- Legal and/or human resources
- Health and safety and property asset management
- CQC-regulated hospice, palliative or end-of-life care
Above all, we are looking for people who share our commitment to tackling health inequalities and who bring strategic thinking, sound judgement, curiosity and collaborative leadership.
We are committed to building a diverse Board that reflects the communities we serve and welcome applications from people with a broad range of backgrounds, lived experiences and perspectives.
Whether you are an experienced trustee or looking to take on your first non-executive role after a senior executive career, this is an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by helping shape a nationally significant model of care.
