Our Vision

We are committed to challenging stigma and tackling health inequalities by providing inclusive, compassionate palliative and end of life care and psycho-social support for people living with HIV.

We have supported people who have faced stigma and marginalisation for over 30 years; we are proud to build upon this legacy by extending our hospice care to LGBTQ+ communities across Sussex.

Building upon our reputation of compassionate care we will offer a safe and affirming space where people can be who they are without fear.

“To improve palliative care access for people experiencing marginalisation, we must strive not just for equality but for equity: altering and adapting our palliative care approaches to meet the unique needs of patients.”

Our Approach

Our trauma informed palliative approach to care sits alongside our community services to create a safe and supportive space for individuals living with HIV who often experience stigma and ostracism, as well as marginalisation based on intersecting factors regarding gender, sexuality, ethnicity and disability.

We tackle health inequalities through integrated working in health and community settings, we adopt inclusive strategies that are proactive, easily accessible, establish early contact, remain persistent – and always meet people where they are.

‘’…palliative and end of life care should be made available according to need, regardless of who or where you are or what conditions you might live with.’’
