The Sussex Beacon is the leading HIV charity in Brighton, providing specialist medical care and support for people living with HIV.
We have been open since 1992 and whilst advances in medicine have helped many to live unaffected by the virus, there is still a minority for whom everyday is a challenge as a result of their HIV status. We provide both inpatient and outpatient services for HIV+ individuals living in Sussex and beyond. This includes the charities 10-bedded Inpatient Unit, as well as weekly Day Service sessions, a Women and Families Support Group, a Peer Support Project, and additional Wellbeing Groups. Without our services many people would go without the support they need.
We are proud to be supported by Brighton Pride, one of the UKs biggest, boldest and best Pride events with community fundraising at its heart. The Sussex Beacon is already looking forward to participating in this years Brighton Pride Festival. On Saturday, 4th August 2018, you can find us in the heart of the community village, where we will showcase our work, services, volunteering opportunities and events, and talk about the different ways in which you can get involved.
We hope to see many of you at Pride, and are excited to be part of the upcoming Pride festivities to celebrate Brighton & Hove's wonderful and vibrant community.
