Our Peer Mentoring services are for everyone living with HIV.
Peer Mentoring takes place between people with similar experiences. It makes a positive difference to people’s wellbeing.
Peer Mentoring has been proven to be an effective way to help people live well with HIV, manage their lives, and to feel part of a community. The British HIV Association recognises that people living with HIV should be enabled to maximise self-management.
This includes their physical and mental health, as well as their social and economic wellbeing. It should help to optimise peer support opportunities.
All of our peer mentors are completely trained or are receiving ongoing support to help and are people living with HIV. They are committed to helping reduce feelings of stigma and isolation for people living with HIV.
We offer one to one and group support here at The Sussex Beacon and in the community. We aim to listen to what your needs, matching you with appropriate Peer Mentors. They can help identify ways to support you most effectively.
