Watch the Brighton and Hove World AIDS Day Digital Vigil from 6pm on December 1st. The video below will be live streamed from 6pm so watch it here or click through to YouTube and get involved there!.
This 1st December is the day that we commemorate those who have died of AIDS over the decades and those who are still ill and facing death across the World.
We also celebrate the progress that has been made to reduce the harm and stigma of HIV.
Sadly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, rules around large gatherings and the current lockdown, we are unable to host an in person vigil at New Steine Gardens this year, individuals are still welcome to go along to the gardens on December 1st to pay their respects as the gardens will be open.
The Sussex Beacon and other regional AIDS organisations will be taking part in a digital vigil, hosted by the team at Brighton and Hove Council on the date itself.
This includes the reading of names of those we have lost to HIV and AIDS, speeches and other pieces. The reading takes place at 6pm on December 1st at https://www.facebook.com/worldAIDSdayBH/ and on YouTube.
